During his running career (six years an amateur and roughly the same period as a professional) Alf Shrubb reckons he won an astonishing total of more than 1,000 races.  He accumulated a huge number of medals and trophies and the memorabilia includes this splendid shield, which incorporates a picture of Shrubb, his shirt covered in medals.
